Company Directors

Jonathan Ruane
Founder and Managing Director
Jonathan founded Eventovate in 2008 and brought the business to market in 2009. Prior to Eventovate, Jonathan spent 8 years with Procter & Gamble Europe working across a range of international businesses in both customer development and brand management. Between 2004 and 2007 he managed one of P&G’s largest UK businesses with an annual turnover in excess of €170million. He represented P&G as a finalist in the UK National Business Awards 2005.

Jonathan is an accomplished ultra-marathon runner and a high-altitude climber. He advises a leading Irish political party on national technology and innovation policy. Jonathan has a B.Comm from University College Dublin and also holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Michael Smurfit Graduate School, UCD.

Jason Ruane
Founder and Director of Development
Jason is a co-founder of Eventovate and led the development of the company’s core technology. Prior to Eventovate he spent more than a decade developing software and mission critical systems for Intel in Ireland, US and Israel.

Jason has been awarded numerous national and international accolades including the 1999 Fryar medal for Physics. He holds a 1st class degree in Applied Physics from Dublin City University and a 1st class M.Sc in Applied Computing.


Board Advisors

Shay Garvey
Shay spent the initial 10 years of his career working with Exxon (Canada), Corning Process Systems (UK) and McKinsey and Co Inc (France). He was subsequently the principal in a number of start-ups in Ireland before joining Delta Partners in 1994. Shay represents Delta on the Boards of Aircraft Maintenance Technologies (AMT) and Branded Payment Solutions (BPS). Shay was Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA) in 2004/2005 and has served on the Board of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA).

Alex Hobbs
Alex is the Funds Portfolio Manager of Dublin Business Innovation Centre who is Co-Fund Manager of the €53 million AIB Seed Capital Fund. Alex has over twenty five years experience as a Specialist Business and Investment professional working with small and medium sized enterprises. He has extensive experience in the Irish seed/early stage and venture capital industry investing in over 50 companies. He has also served on the boards in the formative years of a number of internationally successful Irish technology, biotechnology and food companies.
