It has been announced today that Jonathan Ruane, CEO of Eventovate, has been elected to the prestigious PhoCusWright 35. The award, which recognises next-generation leadership in travel, tourism and hospitality from around the world, is the flagship event in the industry’s most high-profile conference.
Ruane will join a select group of elite business leaders, including top-level executives from Google, Intercontinental hotels and Hipmunk at the summit in Arizona later this year. As a PhoCusWright global innovator, Ruane will give a keynote speech outlining his vision of applications, technologies and solutions with the potential to transform the industry.

On Wednesday April 25th, Eventovate was recognised for excellence in graduate recruitment
at the GradIreland awards in the Mansion House. Shortlisted alongside Accenture, Deloitte and
PwC in two of the four senior categories, Eventovate beat a record number of entrants including
Diageo and RSM Farrell Grant Sparks to be named Best Small Recruiter.
In securing the accolade, Eventovate became the first ever indigenous Irish technology company
to win a title and the only company ever to win in their first year of entry. All of this just ten
months since hiring our first employee (we have hired 6 graduates in this period).

ABCG is headed by Mike Ashton, ex-Senior Vice President Marketing & Brand Management for Hilton International. The Sunday Times has heralded the success of Eventovate so far and noted that it is facilitated by the complementary skills of co-founders Jonathan and Jason Ruane. Jonathan comments that the greatest advantage of having a co-founder is that “you have someone to bounce ideas off”. According to a recent Startup Genome Report, a US survey examining the performance of technology start ups, co-founded businesses are twice as likely to pivot, identify and respond effectively to changes in the marketplace.

Eventovate was recognised as one of the leading High Potential Start-Ups by the state venture capital firm Enterprise Ireland. Enterprise Ireland picked out a crop of promising firms for the HPSU showcase. The companies must be developing innovative technology, be export-focused and have the potential to achieve substantial export sales and create employment. Eventovate’s Managing Director Jonathan Ruane was featured on RTE news and in the Sunday Business Post for his part in the showcase. Mr Ruane is pictured discussing current opportunities with Hugh Cooney (Chairman Enterprise Ireland) and Richard Bruton T.D (Irish Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation).

Eventovate is delighted to announce it has completed a funding round of €700,000 to support its continued expansion. This latest investment announcement represents one of the most significant seed-funding rounds in the emerging Irish cloud services market this year. Eventovate’s investment includes funding from Bank of Ireland Start-up and Emerging Sectors Equity Fund managed by Delta Partners; High Potential Start-up Funding from Enterprise Ireland; and funding from the AIB Seed Capital Fund managed by Dublin Business Innovation Centre.

Eventovate’s Managing Director, Jonathan Ruane, has completed the infamous Mararathon des Sables, often referred to as the toughest footrace on the planet. This extreme ultramarathon took place in the Sahara desert and required Jonathan to run 252KM in temperatures as high as 51 DegCel. To compound the difficulty of the challenge, all competitors must remain self-sufficient throughout the race. This means they carried all their own food, water, sleeping bags, safety gear and medical equipment for the duration of the race. Jonathan is raising money for Shine Ireland to help people with Schizophrenia in memory of his friend, Michael Hughes.

There was a record attendance at the annual event. Eventovate is thrilled to announce the arrival of Adrian Wells at the north pole - one of only 400 people to ever reach the Pole by foot.
Eventovate sponsored Adrians herculian adventure as part of the gruelling Polar Race. The race starts from Resolute Bay in the former North West Territories of Canada. It takes the atheletes some 350 miles, by ski or foot, across some of the most desolate terrain in the world to the Magnetic North Pole.
As well as enduring tempretures as low as -61C and arctic winds of over 100kph, Adrian was attacked by a polar bear during his Month on the ice and snow.
As an senior executive with many years international experience in UK, Russia and Africa, Adrian has been an enormous asset to Eventovate as he advised the company throughout it's Research and Development phases. Eventovate was delighted to sponsor Adrian on his arctic adventure
